ProTrade Steel Company Ltd., located in Fairlawn Ohio, is looking for a Staff Accountant. ProTrade Steel, a subsidiary of The ProTrade Group LLC, is a full service regional ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metal trading company.
What is the Role and Responsibilities?
The Staff Accountant will work directly with the Controller and Senior Financial Analyst and be responsible for the monitoring and posting of transactions to the general ledger and related analysis of general ledger accounts. They will assist with the preparation of monthly financial statements and analysis, monitoring and improving internal control processes, and backup certain critical Accounting functions. Potential for future advancement within the Company.
Core Responsibilities:
- Accounts Receivable -ensure accurate & complete reporting of balances; cash entry/application; investigate/monitor issues through resolution; credit insurance
- Trade, Non-Trade & Freight Payables; trade terms
- New Account setup for Customers, Suppliers, Transportation providers; Certificate of Insurance management
- Month End Close – monthly expense report approvals; bank reconciliations; benefit and payroll accruals; other journal entries as directed
- Quarterly CAT (Commercial Activity) tax reporting
- Fixed Asset – manages the fixed asset records of the Company including asset additions, disposals & construction in process; secure insurance coverage; support Tax & AMT reporting; provide projections for planning and year-end reporting
- Oversee annual unclaimed funds reporting
Training, Development & Education in following areas:
- Capex Tracking – lead annual Capex planning process; manage, track and report on CER activity against plan
- Accounting Close & Financial Reporting for Business Units
- Review of nightly job-stream reports monitoring the accuracy, completeness of daily activity
- Comprehensive review of the Trading operations focused on the transaction & contract side of the business
- Cash Management, Banking, Credit Agreement, Borrowing Base
- RJ Recycling inventory functions in CRES Accounting system
- Assist with conversion to new Accounting software package
Who are We Looking For?
We are looking for someone with an Accounting or Finance degree with 3-5 years of experience in an Accounting position. The individual will be required to multi-task and adapt to new situations and opportunities. Below are additional attributes and qualifications:

Trading Representative
ProTrade Steel – Austin Texas
ProTrade Steel Company Ltd. is looking for a Trading Representative in the Austin, TX office. This position is responsible for the purchase and sale of commodities in the scrap metal industry. ProTrade Steel, a subsidiary of The ProTrade Group LLC, is a full service international ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metal trading company.
What is the Role and Responsibilities?
The main focus is developing and maintaining relationships with scrap processors, steel producers and transportation companies. This requires contact by visitation, phone calls, and emails on a constant basis. The trader must be able to plan a travel schedule which utilizes their time efficiently. Generally, travel is required during the middle weeks of each month to help build a relationship between the trading representative and individual customers. Potentially, up to ten days each month could be spent away from home.
The first and last weeks of the month are primarily spent on the phone probing the supply as well as the demand of commodities in the forthcoming month. Excellent interpersonal communication and negotiation skills are required to be a successful trader. As part of the scrap trading team with our offices, information is assimilated to prepare for future business. Skills are developed via a training program and continued with on the job training from experienced staff.

Who are We Looking For?
- We are looking for someone with a CDL
- The driver will haul scrap metal material to and from business locations and customer sites
- Drive tractor/trailer in all conditions in accordance with federal regulations. Working frequently near moving heavy
equipment and traffic - Ability to read, write and interpret in English such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions

Operations Manager
RJ Recycling – Parkersburg, West Virginia
RJ Recycling LLC is looking for a hands-on, experienced Operations Manager at its Parkersburg, West Virginia location. This position will oversee daily yard operations. RJ Recycling, a subsidiary of The ProTrade Group LLC, is a growing scrap metal processing company committed to sustainability, efficiency, and safety. Our Parkersburg yard plays a vital role in the regional recycling chain, processing thousands of tons of ferrous and non-ferrous material annually.
What are the Role and Responsibilities?
The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring operational efficiency, safety compliance, equipment uptime, and team leadership in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Key responsibilities include supervising all yard operations, such as receiving, sorting processing and shipping scrap metal. This role involves managing and scheduling a team of operators, equipment drivers, and yard workers, as well as overseeing equipment maintenance and coordinating repairs to minimize downtime. Ensuring strict compliance with OSHA, EPA and other regulatory standards is essential, along with monitoring inventory levels and coordinating the movement of materials in and out of the yard. The position requires optimizing workflows to maximize throughput and minimize waste, maintaining accurate operation records including production metrics and incident reports, and training staff on proper safety procedures and equipment usage. Additionally, the role involves collaborating with sales, logistics, and upper management to support overall business goals, and assisting with hiring, onboarding, and performance evaluation of yard personnel.
Who are We Looking For?
- 3–5+ years of experience in scrap, recycling, construction, or heavy industrial operations
- Proven leadership or supervisory experience in a yard or plant environment
- Strong knowledge of heavy machinery such as shears, balers, loaders, and cranes
- Working knowledge of safety and environmental compliance requirements
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Proficiency with operational software or inventory management systems is a plus
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or technical degree preferred
Preferred Skills:
- Experience managing OSHA compliance and safety programs
- Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with equipment maintenance
- Knowledge of different grades and types of ferrous and non-ferrous metals
